“My wife and I first met Veena while vacationing in the small town of Savusavu on the island of Vanua Levu in Fiji’s Northern group in 1986. She and her family invited us into their home there and showed us hospitality we had never experienced in all of our foreign travels. During that and many subsequent visits, Veena introduced us to many of her friends, family, and business associates in this small island community. She showed us how important the connections she formed with this group of people greatly improved the quality of life they shared and helped them better utilize the often-limited resources available to them. In fact, we were so impressed with how these relationships produced such an unhurried, rich enjoyment of life, that we built our second home on the island and “joined the club”.
